Burke and Hare - 2010

I am so excited for this movie!  Ever since I heard that David Tennant was in it, but things just get better all the time!  I don't just watch movies/shows that David Tennant is in because he's a handsome man...his movies/shows ROCK!  He is a phenomenal actor.  Very expressive in his delivery and extremely convincing.  I can't say this about everyone, but the man was so apparently born to act!

So Burke and Hare.  I get alerts to the Tennant blog (sorry ladies and gentleman, he doesn't write it) and I got an alert a little while ago saying that he was doing this film with....wait for it.....SIMON PEGG!!!  Another totally awesome actor (Hot Fuzz, Shawn of the Dead)!  So I go to IMDB and decide to check out who else is cast...they only had Simon Pegg when I checked this afternoon, so I started looking at the newsfeed for the movie and I notice something else.  Dan Akroyd has signed on for the cast and John Landis is directing.  My goodness...we might actually get this one in America!  I can only hope.  IMDB lists Pegg as playing William Burke (the sensitive one) which leaves William Hare to be played by David Tennant.  I can only speculate the role of Dan Akroyd, but the other main character is the man they sell the bodies to - Dr. Knox.  The more I write the more excited I am to see this...especially if I can on the big screen!

I'm certainly going to be posting trailers when they become available.  The movie is due out in 2010, but no mention of when or any countries besides the UK.

A little background on Burke and Hare.  It's based on the story by Robert Louis Stevenson, "The Body-Snatcher" and is supposed to be a dark comedy.  With that cast I can certainly see the comedy!

Here's a link to the news article off IMDB that talks about Dan Akroyd joining the cast (in case you can't believe it, because I had to see it to believe it!):

  1. And sadly, David has had to back out of the part. I was so looking forward to this. I'll still see it (if it comes to America, and I certainly don't see why it wouldn't), but it will be missing such an outstanding actor...
